NTF Georgia Hosts 12th Annual Foster Caregiver Appreciation Luncheon

On October 19th, Neighbor To Family hosted its 12th annual Foster Caregiver Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Show.

The Masquerade and Mystery themed event was attended by over 100 stylishly dressed guests who joined in the fun with suits, gowns and masks. The Master of Ceremonies, Jody Howard, Georgia’s Director of Education and Support Services, kept the event lively and fun, Tony Everett, President/CEO and Dr. Jamila Hankins, Vice-President of Georgia and Maryland Programs, spoke of Neighbor To Family’s appreciation for the commitment to excellence and standard of care shown to the children we serve.

This year saw the creation of a new award category. In addition to our traditional, Rising Star, Foster Caregiver in a Supporting Role, and County Foster Caregiver of the Year awards, the prestigious Georgia Foster Caregiver of the Year award will serve as the crown jewel of our awards and is eligible to all Neighbor To Family Georgia Foster Caregivers. Our premiere recipient  was Ms. Darlene Campbell of the Dekalb/Fulton region. Ms. Campbell has been a Foster Caregiver with Neighbor To Family for over 11 years and in that time has had over 50 children in her home. In addition to setting the gold standard in the areas of timely documentation completion, training, and meeting all basic needs, Ms. Campbell’s real strength is in her ability to manage difficult situations, advocate for the children in her home, and help the children feel loved and safe.  We are so proud and happy to have Ms. Campbell as part of our team!

Thanks to amazing support from our Community Sponsors, every Foster Caregiver who attended left with at least one door prize.

Prizes included, gift baskets, a free rental car weekend, jewelry, cosmetics, home décor and family entertainment fun packs, and gift cards that ranges from $25 to $200.

The event appeared to be a huge success and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
